2009 has been excellent so far..
Managed to keep myself busy with my princess, schoolwork, friends and SLEEEEP!

Assignments are definately more fun than last terms, and theres CALCULUS! Makes me happy whenever i do them. Considerably more midterms/tests/quiz this term too.. Stats has a quiz or a test every wednesday.
Profs are all good except for the China Prof for linear algebra.. which i dont understand what hes talking about.

Get to spend time with my beloved Kutie (her name is Rachel) almost everyday.
We got together on CNY 2009 (26th Jan), which is supposedly auspicious! Shes really SICK - Smart Interesting Cuxy and Kute.
O and i luv her cooking! Especially the "1,000,000g food".
Thanks for everything <3
I think she purified me off my cant-gain-weight curse.

1. When somebody type "lol" on msn, the first thing that comes to your mind is "List Of Lists"
(yea.. i still cant get over the fact that one of the markers -1% from me because i use "lol", "lol1" and "lol2" as arguements.

2. When somebody google a bunch of words (multiple strings), you tell that person to use append to combine all the words into a single string.
(Eg. Search for -> carrot cakes recipe <- -->-- "carrot cake recipe")

3. When you are too used to using ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; and overuse it in daily conversation.

New computer

Just as i finished my asssignments in advance early this week, and after a few minutes of
webcam with my friend, my computer SHORT-CIRCUITED!

And it wont switch back on.. guess the motherboard got fried.. and its only about a year old.

All my hard work gone!~
My hours spent on programming codes gone
Priceless pictures gone
Music which i had to slowly find gone.
Everything gone.

Went to best buy to ask for a repair but was quoted @ least $400 to repair!
Retrieving the data was also available.. at a cut-throat price ><
O wells,, decided to get a new laptop an got a wide-screen HP computer.
(It has a num-pad! But the main keyboard has to shrink such a way that the shift button is really puny..)
Still getting used to the keyboard size..

Dint do much for the weekend, went to my friends' house for dinner and to play on Saturday night, and they cooked YUMMY FOOD! They really know how to make me homesick >.> But hey.. the food is really awesome!

One more week of classes before final exams.. Im excited for Christmas! (Altho im gonna be lonely for xmas :( )

Snowy weekend

It snowed yesterday night.. and the floor is filled with "slush". Snowmen were built everywhere.
Went to Chii's place to play card and hang out til past midnight, and then came back to chat on msn til late(or early). Overslept again. Sunny afternoon, with snow still on the ground melting at a really slow rate of dV/dt, and playful squirrels playing with the snow. Minimal wind. Beautiful weather indeed. Im in good mood (:

Maybe still a little Homesick and Lovesick.. but hey, it will go away soon~

Yay.. Done with midterms.. now to final exams!

Once again i finished my assignements very early, im anti-procrastination.
I seemed to have found a bug for the computer science assignements public testing as well.. and the prof thinks so as well.

Played a little of red alert 3 yesterday to "relax". It was fun! I missed the time more than 10years ago when i was so hooked into command and conquer windows 95 edition..

And.. I cant seem to find a place to stay for December Christmas :(
Do i have to stay in the streets?

Time flies.. its almost gonna be December.. final exams and 2weeks of break.

Friday -> Finished my computer science assignment which is soooooooo fun. (I always want to finish CS first altho it takes the most time) Then went to the mall with all the malaysians and bought red alert 3 but havnt really played it, but it will be main main source of gaming for quite awhile (havnt gotten a chance to play games since i came to uni). Hang out at the mall for quite awhile, and got a glove which caught my attention.. wanted to buy one with orange and black design but looks abit funny.
Then went to UW plaza (not a mall but a row of restaurants across the school) to have dinner @ a Korean restaurant. Was quite good! Ate extra servings of kimchi.. and missed having my mum's home-cooked meals with kimchi as extra side dish! Man.. when can i taste my mum's cooking again :(

Saturday -> Slept under my cozy blanket for a little longer and woke up for a light breakfast followed by kendo.. More blisters gotten on my left hand (The part i hate about blisters most is that they hurt like hell when taking a shower). Im gonna go get a tape sometime soon.
Spent my time slowly reading Econs textbook. Econs isnt that bad altho its mostly a complicated version of common sense. Its much better than Algae-bra tho.. (yea you know how much i hate Algebra) Did laundry and did a major spring cleaning of my room, clearing all the dusts in my room and wiping all the corners.

I gtg bed soon.. Going with Miss Malaysia for groceries shopping tmr~

Time flies.. its November already..

Went to Wonderland in Toronto on Friday night with a good friend.
Left the school at 5pm.. reached there around 7pm (yea.. 2 long hours in the bus)

Wonderland was great.. but unfortunately theres so many people that its impossible for the performers to spook every single one of us because there is always people behind the person who got spooked.
I should have counted the number of times i hear screams "OH MY GOD!!". And really amusing to hear guys screaming or getting shocked.
Just to amuse myself, i successfully scared the people around me with sudden actions.. and managed to stun the performers as well!
There are way too many things to see. And 4.5 hours definately isnt enough. The queues for the rides were really long and since my friend "does not want to vomit after the ride", we only ended up on one of the rides, which i think was the least thrilling of all the rides.. not worth the wait.
Had the ice-cream-cake there for supper which was great. Worth the 10$+.
And my camera died on me.. so couldnt take any pictures.. why does this always happen? :(

Saturday and Sunday wasnt interesting at all. Did assignments, watched Shrek, ate chips, msn'd and catch up on sleep.

<3 my bed... im going to sleep soon.

Time flies.. its gonna be christmas soon! And then followed by summer during which i can go back Singapore/Indonesia.
Kinda miss home already..

Had a fun wkend..
Went for steamboat(hotpot) with Kendo gang on Friday night and ate ALOT of beef (yummy). Not cheap but i think it was worth it. Came back home and got hooked to 80s Mandarin/Cantonese Karaoke songs on utube.. really brings back memories :D
Gonna ask my parents and grandparents for some recommendations.
Slept late and slept in.. Then went for brunch at Lotus Chinese restaurant. Food was alright.. Food here is actually better than expected.. but still cant compare to back those back home.
Met two more Singaporean girls (from Hwa zhong JC) during lunch and went to chinese supermarket to buy more snacks (i <3 sweets). Went to Fairview mall after that to hang around and came back to complete my Computer science Assignment. programming GPS satellite directions is fun.. and lengthy :D

Gonna sleep soon.. need to catch up on sleep.. if not i think il grow old..

Proof: 10 congruent 1 mod 9.
(a C b mod n when (a-b) is divisble by n)

Lets say a number: 123327
(sum of digits = 18.. therefore divisible by 9)

123327 = (1 . 10^5) + (2 . 10^4) + (3. 10^3) + (3 . 10^2) + (2 . 10) + (7)

Physics? Acturial Science? Mathematical Physics? (Physmatics) or maybe computer science?
What should i major in?
Pure Mathematics is definately a no go.. proving things is just not my cup of tea.
Mathematics is not just about solving anymore. Algebra is 90% proving.
Calculus is fun.. and is more towards applied math where my interest is.
Physics suits me most so far. I feel happy doing physics, deriving equations and solving them.. To the extent that i will actually wikipedia things which are not taught yet out of curiousity. I actually feel happy doing long differential equations and deriving at answers.
Hmm.. better make up my mind quickly..
Meanwhile i am going to attend actsci and mathematical physics lectures to see how much it suits me.

Evil Honky Math Prof..

Just had MacroEconomics mid-term, wasnt that hard.. hope i can do well for it! Cant expect to do badly too.

Just got back my Math ASSignment as well.. lost marks cus i dint know what proves to use back then(that is ok) but the previous prof deduct 20% from it because "wrong location to turn in homework".

Now im gonna discuss about my previous-math prof(yea i changed class).

I was initially in the Advanced Math Algebra class.. but there was an overload of proving(dint know first year Algebra courses is all about proves.. which i suck in) where all the words make me sleepy.
Then recently i swithced to the regular Math Algebra class, and got a Hong Kong Lady Prof.

First day i switched to the course, i went to her office room and knocked on the the door.
She opened and said in a menancing way"Do you know its not my office hour now??" (how would i know im a new student going to join your class)
She then invited me in and asked me if i have gotten the textbook. Its only my 2nd or 3rd week of class then, and the other courses i took do not need a textbook. So i said i dont have the textbook. She replied "This is not a high school anymore, your grown up and should know if you want to have the textbook or not." She then got me a copy of the ASSignment which is due the day after and asked me to complete.

I completed the ASSingment, which isnt too hard, however i dint know which proofs to use so i dint get perfect grade. I wasnt told where to submit it(for other classes its either online submission or handing it to the prof in class). So i slot it under her door.

Then i went to her lecture the day i submitted the ASSignment, she got up to me when i was sitting in the lecture room before the class start and raised her voice at me "DO YOU KNOW THE PROCEDURES FOR SUBMITTING ASSIGNMENTS? I DINT GET TO MY OFFICE UNTIL LUNCHTIME. WHAT IF IT IS CONSIDERED LATE?" She actually yelled at me in front of everyone in the lecture room.. the first lecturer in my life who "lectured" me.. in front of so many people.

Talk about bad timing.. the week after which i switched into the regular class, they have a midterm the following monday.. and i had to take it.

But well.. after some work.. i managed to switched to another class, and i find the prof is better, and without Hong Kong Accent. One class he said to one student who was playing with camera "Hey you there.. Please put the camera away. Are you trying to film me and put it on some porn website?"

Haha. Gonna take a break today.. tmr revise for Physics Midterm on Saturday morning.. my favourite subject.. no reason why i shouldnt ace it.

Im finally 20.. Officially and old man!

Went for 4 hrs of class in a row.. according to my unofficial timetable.
Math 138 is soo much fun.. so much equations and integrations.
Math 135 is OK.. nt interesting because its more proving and words words words...
Physics was boring.. fav prof not here so no lame jokes and the sub prof did the example questions in so detail as if teaching high school ><"'
Econs is alright.. alot of common sense and terms to remember.

Rained again today.. just like any birthday.. it doesnt rain that often here..
But there was a downpour on the day i got here.
Maybe i have some affinity with the rain?

Recieved quite a number of calls from friends and relatives.. as well as smses and facebook/friendster/msn. Thanks all!

Every Friday i will wake up around 9/10am and have a quick breakfast.. den to kendo at 11+ to 1+.. and go out in the late afternoon til late midnight(or later).

Today i got 2 nasty blisters on my toes from kendo, causing me to walk uncomfortably like a duck for quite awhile ><

Went to a chinese supermarket to get random snacks such as fried-chicken flavoured crackers.. mini-chocolate-burger biscuits and milk candies. den went to a nearby mall to look for cake but cant find any. But i bought a beautiful katana which is now positioned on top of my bed :P

Went back to University plaza for dinner/3-in-1 bdae celebration. Three October babies celebrating bdae and sharing one cake(which we bought somewhere near school campus). How more productive can we get. haha. Went to a restaurant called "bubble tease" but did not order bubble tea. The super hardened cake took quite alot of effort to cut but it was great! *drools*

Saturday just seem to fly by so fast.. gg sleep now and church tmr early morning @,@

95% of the time starting conversations gonna end up like this.
